![]() ![]() ![]() Overall, I consider Macbooks to be eye-candyish and meant for people who aren't keen on customizing/tinkering the laptop down the road but have "fast, light and portable" device. It was a bit of hassle to create bootable USB (original OS was High Sierra), fiddling with Terminal and App Store, but it slowly worked out (two core Intel i5 isn't too fast :D) MagSafe is very convenient, so simple and that snap gives such satisfaction :D Waking up from sleep within seconds is something new for me too, Windows don't do that. Screen is nice too, 16:10, decent colors and around 300 nits, still holding up well. It was really interesting experience to work with Macbook (I'm more of a Thinkpads gal), definitely admiring the visuals and how consistent UI is (looking at you, Windows 11!).īattery life is impressive for a laptop which was used daily for more than 5 years, got 5-6 hours of web browsing with ~80% screen brightness. ![]() Bought never-used Fledging 512GB SSD for 40€ in second hand market and installed Monterey 12.2. Will be used for for school homework, internet browsing and notes taking in classes - a small portable device while at home he uses desktop PC but stock 128GB SSD wasn't too big and decided to give it an upgrade. Friend's old Macbook Air which he got from his parents and asked for help to upgrade it.
